The Society’s programme runs from September to June each year and we organise a series of:
- High quality indoor meetings monthly from October to April.
These are talks illustrated with slides and cover a wide range of topics about birds which are based on countries, species or special interest. We aim to obtain only the best speakers who have excellent slides or birds and their habitat. The talks normally last for about 2 hours with a refreshment break part way through. These are rarely in depth technical ornithological presentations so do not be put off!
- Weekend Trips monthly from September to June. These are of two types namely one day trips on a Saturday or Sunday or long weekend trips to more distant locations. We have also organised longer trips to Israel and India in the past and may do similar things in the future.
- Mid-week Trips monthly from September to May on a Tuesday. These are aimed at the retired members of the Society but are not exclusive to that group and tend to be of a more leisurely pace. There is always a Christmas lunch arranged.
